John Moore
We celebrated the tradition of The Chili Cook-off and Edible Art with crock pots of gourmet chili recipes and the creative and delicious edible art baked goods. The creative nature of each individual chili is they all are proprietary recipes; no two alike. Likewise, the edible art is a unique creative piece of art as well as good to the last bite.
This is why we have the Chili Tasting and Edible Art Competition. Tasting crock pot after crock pot of Chili and Edible Art on the buffet line is challenging and hard to resist. As the crock pots warmed the chili for judging, we all enjoyed a time to meet with our friends and enjoy some music from our Disc Jockey, Brian Kedzorski aka “BK”.

Now was the time to say thank you to our host, The Porsche Exchange, for our venue. I asked Faris Nijim, Sales Manager, Marco Rodriguez, Service Director, Vlad Alnis, Parts Manager to come front and center. Barb Mashburn, Jim Dorfman and I presented a trophy acknowledging our gratitude and appreciation to the Porsche Exchange from PCA Chicago Concours for hosting the Chili Cook Off and Edible Art Competition event.

Lunchtime tasting by all, as well as judging the array of chili and art was in process as the people walked the forty-yard stretch of tables sampling any and all of the Chili and Edible Art. Four teams of Tasting Judges would make the same forty-yard tasting pilgrimage. These judges would select 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in three Categories of Chili and one of Edible Porsche Art.
The Competitive Categories for Judging are:
- 356 Classic Chili – traditional recipe with meat, beans or both
- 911 Clubsport Chili – non-traditional creative recipe of unusual ingredients
- 930 Turbo Boost Chili – a spicy recipe of enhanced ingredients; hot
- Edible Porsche Art – create anything that is Porsche design and can be tasted by our experienced Judges and fellow members. Cakes, cookies, candy – no restrictions

This year we want to acknowledge members that make this Concours Chili Tasting and Edible Art Party the tradition it has become. It is their chili recipes and their creativeness in Edible Porsche Art that brings us all together. In doing so, again this year we gave each competitive entry in the Chili Cook Off and Edible Art a commemorative Chili Cook Off Chef’s Apron in appreciation for competing in the event.

The Winners of First, Second and Third Place in the competition received Olympic style ribbons with medallions, an embossed cutting board and wooden spoon. I want to congratulate all the winners that pleased the Judges with their cooking and baking excellence.
Here is a list of the 2026 Winners:

Prior to the awards, I had the privilege of expressing my gratitude to all members attending and especially those who brought Chili and Edible Art. Your special recipes of Chili and Edible Art is what made this event a success. The Concours volunteers did a magnificent job of setting up the event and working registration, Thank you all again! Wonderful people make for a wonderful time and that is why PCA Chicago is a great place.
We had a great turnout and there was plenty of great tasting chili and magnificent edible art for all to enjoy. In my opinion, everyone is a winner, after all every crock pot was empty and the desserts were devoured.
In closing we hope to see you at our upcoming events. Concours School is Sunday March 22 at Body Builders Collision Center, Rolling Meadows. Judges School is Sunday April 19 at Midwest Performance Cars, Westmont.
Safe driving, The Concours Team!
